The 2020 Census Urban Areas layer counted 205,356 residents in the Portland urban area, the largest in Maine. That count establishes guide order. It is not a city population or evidence of project demand.
The current FAA airport diagram for Portland International Jetport shows intersecting Runway 11/29 at 7,200 by 150 feet and Runway 18/36 at 6,100 by 150 feet. The field elevation is 76 feet, and the diagram marks a cargo apron and deicing pad. Current NOTAMs, airport activity, permission, and route review still control.
Portland Public Works lists separate permits for street occupancy, sidewalk occupancy, and street openings. The affected ground needs to be mapped by owner before a work date is set. NWS 1991-2020 Portland seasonal normals show 68.7 inches of annual snowfall, including 49.1 inches in winter and 16.4 inches in spring. The annual precipitation normal is 48.12 inches. Snowpack, loose material, wind, visibility, icing risk, and aircraft limits need current checks.

MaineDOT identifies the Port of Portland as Maine’s largest marine-freight port, with nine marine terminals. Seven are associated with refined petroleum products. These are regional infrastructure facts, not access to a specific terminal.
The same plan describes the International Marine Terminal as a container facility with nearby highway and Jetport access plus a freight-rail spur. Terminal boundaries, rail activity, road authority, receiving-zone control, and operating schedules still need direct confirmation.
