The Census Bureau’s Vintage 2025 workbook estimates the Minot MSA at 75,694 residents. Because North Dakota has only four MSAs, the directory uses the 2020 Census urban-area table for one consistent five-place ranking. Minot is fourth at 50,925. These regional counts select the guide and do not measure city demand.
Minot International Airport is two miles north of the city. The current FAA North Central Chart Supplement lists two grooved runways, timed Class D service, wildlife activity, and published landing-fee conditions. The current airport hot-spot table identifies two taxiway and runway-crossing hot spots. Minot Air Force Base adds a separate military operating environment north of the city. Current charts, NOTAMs, and exact coordinates remain essential.
The City of Minot’s 2040 plan goals call for an industrial park supporting medical, energy, knowledge-based, and value-added agricultural businesses. The plan also identifies infrastructure for industrial property as a city objective. That is adopted planning context, not a current lift inventory. The National Weather Service North Dakota flood history identifies the 2011 Souris River flood as the Minot area’s largest in well over a century. Roughly one-quarter of the community went under water, while agricultural land remained inundated from mid-April into early July. This is historical context. Current river information and site conditions must govern access and staging.
Minot’s right-of-way permit process says review can take up to one week. Work that blocks or disrupts vehicle or pedestrian traffic requires a traffic-control plan. Identify whether equipment deliveries, barricades, rigging preparation, or the receiving zone reach public space before fixing the schedule. The permit does not cover the aviation operation.
MOT has controlled airspace during published hours, wildlife activity, and runway-crossing hot spots. The nearby Air Force base has its own restrictions and schedule. A route that looks open on a road map may still conflict with active airspace or protected ground. Williston has a different energy-corridor and airport setting farther west.

At a comparable plant or processing site, verify the component weight, overhead utilities, production boundaries, and receiving position before comparing industrial placement methods.
Souris River flood history places municipal utilities and flood-control work in a sensitive access setting. Current river levels, emergency routes, public right-of-way, and the ground below the proposed route all need separate control before considering remote-site or utility support.
