The Census Bureau Vintage 2025 metropolitan-area table estimates 7,904,627 residents in the Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands MSA on July 1, 2025. That whole-area total ranks second in Texas and selects this guide. It is not Houston’s city population or evidence of lifting demand.
The current FAA Chart Supplement entry for George Bush Intercontinental places IAH 15 nautical miles north of Houston and lists five runways. Published lengths range from 9,000 to 12,001 feet. The entry establishes a major aviation reference, not permission to stage there or approval for an external-load route.
Houston’s Right of Way, Traffic and Mobility section reviews mobility permits for lane closures and regulates work affecting streets and sidewalks. The city prohibits roadway or sidewalk obstruction without a permit. Fix the public footprint before equipment or support vehicles are assigned positions.
IAH has five runways, noise-sensitive areas, and published bird and bat activity nearby. The FAA entry establishes the setting. Exact coordinates, current charts, NOTAMs, obstacles, and the intended route still control the aviation review.
Houston’s 1991-2020 climate normals show 51.84 inches of annual precipitation, with 6.00 inches normal in June. July and August normal highs are near 95 degrees. Rainfall, heat, surface condition, and aircraft performance need separate hold points based on current conditions.
The Harris County Flood Control District identifies 23 major watersheds with separate flooding issues. Their boundaries can cross city or county lines. Identify the actual watershed, drainage route, access road, and property authority instead of treating Houston flood risk as one condition.

Port Houston identifies a group of terminals handling breakbulk, steel, and project cargo. Published capability does not prove that a particular terminal is available or suitable for a lift. Gate access, laydown space, receiving geometry, and property authority remain facility-specific.
The same facilities page lists cargo ranging from grain and steel to wind turbines and blades. Those records establish an industrial equipment context, not a project at a named parcel.
